Don’t Give Up!

We’re all familiar with the famous war-time quote: “Never, never, never give up!” But, do you know who has said: “Don’t Give Up!” concerning your health, hopes, and pursuits? Stephen Hawking.

Who is Stephen Hawking?

He is an “English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, author and Director of Research at the Centre for Theoretical Cosmology within the University of Cambridge. Among his significant scientific works have been a collaboration with Roger Penrose on gravitational singularity theorems in the framework of general relativity, and the theoretical prediction that black holes emit radiation, often called Hawking radiation. Hawking was the first to set forth a cosmology explained by a union of the general theory of relativity and quantum mechanics. He is a vocal supporter of the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics….”

The truly amazing thing is that at 21 years of age, he was diagnosed with a motor neuron disease related to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). By its progression over the years, he is almost entirely paralyzed and communicates through a speech-generating device.

At 72 years of age, he has yet to give in to his physical disability. But, in September of 2014, he declared himself an atheist.

If you’re so given, would you lift up a prayer that his spiritual eyes would be opened for his greatest discovery yet: that the “grand design of the universe” was created by The Grand Designer, God, Who was, is, and forever will be…and his heart would open to receive Him.

(If interested, today, November 7, “The Theory of Everything,” is premiering in theaters. It’s a movie depicting Stephen and Mary’s love story, and subsequent marriage (after his diagnosis and expected two years to live), his collaborations, honors, and struggles.)

Let’s Look and See

PHoto Quote The eyes are useless when the mind is blindSometimes our rose-colored glasses, plugged ears, and closed minds skew truth. A skewed truth I just learned in Nick Ham’s book, BOOK I, is that Noah DID NOT take only two of each animal, bird, etc. into the ark! It’s a half-truth. (Check out Genesis 7)

This made me wonder: “Why don’t we question?” Even when it’s before our eyes, we read it—unseeing. Are we blind lambs to be led astray?!

Truly I say unto you: just because you’ve heard something from the pulpit, seen it depicted in your child’s Bible and portrayed in art, doesn’t make it fact?

Get this: I made myself believe a stray white cat, I saw twice IN MY HOUSE, was my gray Persian! It had invited itself in when I left the kitchen door open. It was in overnight. (I couldn’t believe there hadn’t been a fight!)

The thing is: the signs were there. Ciati’s food kept disappearing w-a-y before it usually did and, once, “she” ran when she saw me.

After it bolted the next morning, I replayed, recalled, the visuals in my mind’s eye. It wasn’t until then that I “saw” a white cat, not a gray one!

Like “Ethos Bright Eyes Products” (EBEP—eye drops used to dissolve cataracts), we could use some “brain drops” for mental clarity! Wouldn’t that be KEEN? J

Manipulation through brain-washing techniques is a much used concept in fiction. Whether it’s by a shrewd inner circle (Pleasantville), or a diabolical invisible entity (Predator), there’s always a hidden agenda for some level of deception or total annihilation. Remember Hitler? In truth, there are many conspiring to lead us astray.

People, it’s working!

Don’t you wonder about things?

NOW is the time to: Question. Inquire. Research!

There are times that I eschew, intentionally avoid, confrontation. I don’t want to rattle the status quo. Sometimes I, too, simply swallow other’s information…without chewing. There’s a clue! “Chewing” begins the breakdown of food. If there’s a hair, some gristle, a piece of bone, we find it and can spit it out.

THINKING is the same. If we mentally and, hopefully, intuitively break down—decipher—deception, we can prepare for, combat, maybe PREVENT its consequences. Well, those faceless, powerful magnates, moguls, and monopolies behind the news media, the internet, TV, and our reading materials have an agenda.

Our times are a-changing. How about making change with me! Let’s open the windows of our minds. Let’s actively invest in our news-feeds and news casts. Don’t swallow everything hook line and sinker or, you will.

Either we lose a-gain, or we gain wisdom. Let’s look, and see. Our lives may depend on it.

It’s a Miracle, Really!

Recently, a writer/friend, Jim Croft, was encouraging us to: “Obey God by following your passion for ministry.” I ditto that! God’s heart (our passion/calling) will flow from our blessed niche.

One of my “flows” is when writing. As thoughts and concepts pour, it seems like there’s a different person in my head. Well, it sort of is…and isn’t, but I’m mindfully, prayerfully, transitioning into the whole, which is the point of this musing: to be all that I am, all of the time. To get there, I need to go to miracles. (You understand my trails, so mentally bookmark “to be all that I am, all of the time.”)

To me, a miracle is a perception.PHOTO ALIGN yourself with the LIGHT

“Perception: a capacity for comprehension…consciousness (obsolete)”

“Consciousness: the condition of being conscious…the normal state of being awake and able to understand what is happening around you”

We miss miracles, every day, because we’re preoccupied with the next thing, distracted from the present, “(un)able to understand what is happening around…;”unperceiving. But, when we’re actively “awake,” looking for them, here’s what can happen:

My regular hairstylist (across the street) was out of town, so I called another for a home visit. She was on vacation, but said she would be available to me on a certain day.

After our meet-and-greet, I instructed her to layer my hair in the back—to give volume to my flat back-of-the-head (my mother was really busy and didn’t remember, or didn’t know, to re-position my head during sleep in infancy). She informed me of her healing ministry, and with my permission, started laying her hands A-L-L over my head, feeling, praying, waiting.

For an hour, we ooh and aahed at God moving my skull. I could feel heat and tingling as it expanded, rounded, even smoothed out the bumpy 100-stitch boomerang scar—from the hairline of my right temple, up the temporal bone, around to the parietal and down 2-3 inches. (Since my wreck/SCI injury, I’ve had to part my hair on the left, so that my hair fullness would fall over/conceal the slight concave of my right parietal area.)

Prior to my calling her, she knew of my disability. Although she was on vacation, and doesn’t normally do house calls, she was awake to her ministry, and perceptive to God’s desire to pour out His love on me. She made herself available.

Back to me, “to be all that I am, all of the time.” Several times she cupped her hands around the upper sides of my head—the parietal lobes where words are transferred into thoughts (the mass of my scar). When she prayed for the correction of my faulty skull DNA, I asked for cellular repair!

In my July 2nd “Cyndex,” I confessed to disrupted synapses. Not only is my head now wonderfully round, but I’m also expecting fluidity in my expressions!!!

God LOVES to confound the “wise” with “foolish” things. (I Corinthians 1:27)

AFFIRM: “Lord, use me today. I’m available. Awaken my sleeping ears and slumbering spirit. My soul thirsts for You.”

In a way, Easter is a birthday celebration. Jesus’ calculated birth is said to have been between March 21st and May 29th, April 24th being between. As for the date we celebrate His birth, December 25th, it seems that date was borrowed from pagan holidays. It was thought that more pagans would be open to that god if it coincided with their holidays. So, in truth, spring marks Jesus’ birth into the world, as well as His death and resurrection out of it.

For my Easter article, and since today is Good Friday, I want to share a posting from Kari Browning, author of Unsealing Ancient Mysteries, clarifying some other misconceptions:

“In some Christian congregations, “Good Friday” is celebrated as the day Jesus was crucified. Actually, Jesus had to be crucified on a Thursday in order for Him to be in the ground three days and three nights and to rise on the first day of the week (Sunday).

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (Matthew 12:40)

Now on the first day of the week (Sunday) Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. (John 20:1)

So, why do we celebrate the crucifixion on “Good Friday” if Jesus was actually crucified on a Thursday? The confusion is because the Church, for the most part, does not understand festival language or Hebraic customs.

This confusion stems from John 19:31, that states Jesus’ body had to be taken down from the cross because the next day was the Sabbath. The first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread is considered a Shabbaton (a high Sabbath). This verse wasn’t referring to the weekly Sabbath (Friday at Sundown to Saturday at Sundown), but to the high Sabbath that was on Friday, Aviv 15, that year.”

Journey to Wholeness VI: Sacral Chakra (I Feel)

Oprah talks about life as a class. I’ve recognized its share of tests. Whatever your assignment in life, don’t sweep anger, disappointment, and depression under the rug of denial. The energy it takes to fuel anger and unforgiveness wreaks havoc on our bodies, is emotionally destructive, and opens us up to spiritual confusion. (Did you know that anger affects your liver? )

The Creative or Sacral Chakra connects us to our sensing abilities, issues accepting others and new experiences, our sexuality, vitality, and creativity. ALL about our right to feel!

Artist from memory (Tom Hale)

When this chakra is open: we’re social, compatible, have the ability for intimacy, enjoy a sense of well-being, abundance, and creativity. It’s energy fuels the creative force that enables you as an artist, builder, chef, crafter, organizer, speaker, writer, etc. It empowers you to create a life of love and abundance. Each day, you co-create your life anew. When closed: imbalances may be impotency, frigidity, urinary tract problems, allergies, lower back issues, depression, alcohol and drug abuse, and eating disorders.

Jumper cables to help energy flow from the Sacral Chakra are water aerobics, aromatic baths, massage, or a “Raindrop Technique” by a Certified Raindrop Technique Specialist (CRTS). After one of these, I feel relaxed, yet energized.

The musical note “D” and decrees of “I listen to my gut feelings. I feel my feelings. I love my feelings. I am faith, hope, and love expressed.” help stimulate sacral energy.

Orange represents the Sacral Chakra. I LOVE orange! I wear it, use it in accent colors, and eat lots of carrots, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, spaghetti squash, oranges, and salmon.

Using Young Living’s Orange Essential oil #3602 ($14.14 for 15ml) for aromatic hot baths provides emotional support, as well as support to the digestive and immune systems. Orange EO can be added as a food enhancement, to water for natural flavoring, as for hot “tea.” Yum!

Young Living’s Essential Oil Trauma Life #6350 ($64.47, or $49 member price, for 5ml retail) is an oil blend that D. Gary Young, the founder of Young Living, created at Steven Seagal’s request for his work in hospital trauma centers. It can cleanse and release emotional trauma from accidents, assault, abuse, loved one’s death, etc. It may relieve anger, fatigue, and stresses that compromise the immune system.

(Due to the fact that one essential oil contains hundreds of biochemicals, and that each person’s body chemistry is different, one essential oil can be used in many situations. And, because of their “strong bioactive constituents,” some oils should not be used on babies, children, or pets.)

How are you progressing on your journey? I’d love to hear your experiences.

Journey to Wholeness (IV) I AM GROUNDED, Foot Chakra

For me, it’s a spiritual experience when something someone relates resonates deep within; even if it’s not an immediate aha, it makes me think, “Huh?” I count it as a spiritual whisper. Sometimes, it takes not getting a concept to inspire questioning. You don’t know what you don’t know until you realize you don’t know. You know?

I desire my “conversations” do that for you. Stay open-minded. Each “next article” is built upon the last, with a week in between for settling and practice.

Grounding earthing

Usually omitted in the charted chakras is the Foot Chakra. It’s really the first and represents our foundation, the feeling of being grounded. It’s our ability to walk the walk.

If the Foot Chakra is closed, you may feel ungrounded and confused, even tired, irritable, and unreasonable. Integration with others and understanding other’s points of view is challenged. In extreme cases, there may be destructive behavior, super-sized temper tantrums. As a result, people may avoid and doubt you.

If you feel uncertain, when life serves up lemons or, the other extreme, when mundane activities interfere with your energy release, the Foot Chakra may be/become blocked.

Any workout or increase in activity will help return energy to its status quo. Take nature walks (earthing/grounding), jog, or jump rope. Smell the earth. Play in dirt; gardening can be transformational meditation.

If your MO is a wheelchair, have someone assist you by placing your feet on the ground, even pound them against the earth. (Here are some “earthing” products that may be of interest ) If this isn’t feasible, go quantum: think and envisioning yourself earthing. While you’re at it, you might as well Dance Like No One is Watching!

The color Brown represents the Foot Chakra. Wear it. Look at it. Eat it.

As for “eating it:” eat root vegetables like potatoes and turnips; raw or boiled non-GMO peanuts; brown and black rice. Season with ground Cumin (get it?), and nutmeg. Treat yourself to dark chocolate, rich in flavonoids and can aid in lowering cholesterol and blood pressure.

Remember brown molasses? Molasses (“light”–first boiling, “dark”–second boiling, “blackstrap”–third boiling and has the greatest health benefits) is made from sugar cane, sugar beets, sorghum, carobs or dates. I drowned my mother’s handmade biscuits with this hearty syrup.

Also, remember molasses is sugar. When something sweet calls your name, EAT FRUIT. Your body is communicating its need for sugar–natural unadulterated sugar for brain support. Have you noticed sugar cravings when you are taxed or stressed? Glucose prevents brain tissue scarring from these experiences. “Comfort food” is not “soul food.” Although, soul food does emotionally and physically comfort your body…the best preventative to taking drugs!

Concerning drugs, and the perfect segue into essential oils, I recently read this:

“While synthetic drugs are simplified, isolated compounds, (essential) oils are complex structures that vary slightly from batch to batch. This means that while pathogens such as viruses can eventually ‘figure out’ the simplicity of drug structures, they cannot adapt to oils because they are always slightly changing.” -soundconcepts by Kari McDermott

In other words, new strains of diseases reinvent themselves to outsmart the pharmaceuticals, aka “medicines.” Essential oils are products of nature, subject to environmental influences. Because their chemistry varies year after year, they inherently outsmart drugs!

By defusing and/or applying two drops on your wrists or temples, Young Living’s Essential Oil Envision #3337 (5 ml, $24.67 retail)  helps to renew faith for the future.

Applied to the back of the neck and on the temples, Grounding #3348 (5ml, $23.36 retail) can help you cope with reality.

Any life upgrade requires knowledge, mindfulness, a decision, and taking action to change. DO IT! Color outside the lines!

Journey to Wholeness-Introduction

I’ve reigned from my chariot for 37 years (40 at this edit). It’s not a record, but it’s up there. In my Memoir, Views From My Chariot , I use what I’ve learned to encourage, educate, and inspire others in their walk with lots of humor, hope, and a section of howtos.

My follow-up book, HOW TO BE THE BEST YOU, is a creative, doable, howto be the best you, strewn with leads to discover, or recapture, your life’s purpose with passion and power to coddiwomple to your Bestdom. I finish with some tongue-in-cheek farcical facts, food fun, and playful puns.

In my “Color Me Red, Orange, and Yellow” chapter, I merely skimmed the surface of color’s influence on and importance to our emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual wholeness. In my “Journey to Wholeness” series, I will expound on these color’s influence of and importance to our true power system– our body’s energy centers or Chakras. I include how sound is therapeutic and offer alternative healing tips with Young Living EOs. I will also add a few of my life-upgrade coaching self-help tools for more self-empowerment..

If you’re thinking chakras sound “New Age,” in TRUTH, our energy center’s colors originated from “The Old Man” – Sam Eddy. God liked them so much, He displayed their ordered colors in His kiss of promise: the rainbow!

For clarity, I reiterate how I live my life and what I profess: I’m a conservative Christian with unconventional experiences with God; God with a capital “G.” I believe in the eternal existence of I Am (before anything was), Who IMAGINEERED and SPOKE into creation the expanse of the universes and us–“who live and move and have our BEing” (Acts 17:28). We are His Inspir-a-tion (“inspire” breathe into; “-tion” action or process of doing something), housed in a physical body–His pulsing well-spring of Life.

For awhile now, I’ve been involved with Young Living’s Essential oils and their benefits to my emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness, even for my cats. Thus said, I’m an investigative novice in body energy. I do know, ALL our life experiences are imprinted in our physical body systems and shout to us with attention-getting signs and dis-ease. Dis-ease, and those “buttons” we believe others push, are emotional memories knocking on the door of our consciousness. Awaiting our love and gratitude, they faithfully signal until we realize (see with real eyes) their message to transform our life. When all is well, awareness, health, wholeness, and vitality flow.

If your life purpose, direction, and vitality have waned or wearied, this series on empowerment is for you! It’s an invigorating B12 shot of health, hope, and wholeness!

(Normally, I keep my articles around 500-words, an easy-read. My second and third, the basis for my “Journey to Wholeness” series, will be longer.)

Until next week..

Somewhere Over The Rainbow…Dreams Come True

Remember learning the letters of the alphabet and theirs sounds; then, by fusing these phonetic values together, syllables magically made words, and a wondrous world of communication unfolded.

Like learning to read, the practice of listening to God, teaches us to discern the intent and meaning of His communications with us. So to my way of thinking, He gave us Jesus, Whose birth we celebrate his season, as an intimate Love note: His heart’s desire and longing to spend every moment, and eternity, with us. As a promissory note, He painted the rainbow in its spectacular colors.

Newton divided its spectrum into seven main colors—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. He chose seven “by analogy to the number of notes in a musical scale.” ( Additionally, I see it as understanding another spiritual dimension of ourselves, as in a mirror, because a rainbow’s colors reflect ours. (I’ll expound on this in my upcoming series “Journey to Wholeness” beginning January 3, 2014!)

In reference to one of my favorite songs, my Christmas wish is that all your dreams do come true! To stimulate thoughts of what your dreams may be, here’s a composite of His wondrous Self-expression, tracked to “Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World” by Isreal Kamakawiwo’ on Ukulele.

Do You Know…

Have you ever felt like life was out of your control? Do you feel alone, forgotten, robbed of purpose and worth? Don’t fall for it! It’s far from the truth.

Beneath His wings

Beneath His wings

Sometimes, circumstances scream “Powerless!” at us. If you believe it, you are. If you don’t, herein lies your true power.

Remember the Christmas classic, “It’s A Wonderful Life?” George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) is a frustrated businessman with compromised dreams from personal sacrifices. Finding himself in a desperate financial strait, thoughts of his unworthiness, thoughts that he should have never been born, drive him to consider suicide. Then his guardian angel, Clarence, shows him how his nonexistence would have negatively affected the residents of Bedford Falls. This movie is a vivid reminder of the malevolence of self-doubt.

We can all suffer from its destructive, indoctrinating effects IF we listen to its lies, which brings me to “What The Bleep Do You Know!?”  (Bookmark this to watch when you’re seriously ready for an awakening.)

It’s part documentary, part story, and part visual effects illustrating how science and religion merge, explaining the interconnectedness of all things.

As Amanda’s (Academy award winner Marlee Matlin, also living with a disability: deafness) uninspired life unravels from relationship woes, she’s thrown into a revelatory wormhole challenging her thoughts, beliefs, and perceptions. Her epiphany is that she is the master of her thoughts, actions, and destiny.

It’s true you’re human, living an earthly existence, ‘tthough you needn’t succumb to its rule over you. Challenge the status quo. Rise above those fatalistic thoughts concerning circumstances you’re finding difficult…and your abilities to rise above them. All things are possible.

There are times that I, too, feel forgotten. That’s when a hug is required. That’s exactly what I said one day. I shared the following experience in my memoir, Views From My Chariot: A Wheelchair Oddity )

“God, I need a hug.

I heard, “Come outside.”

It was a sunny, early fall morning. My home is wrapped with woods on three sides, and there was stillness all around, a palpable quietness. Silhouetted trees and dappled sunlight highlighted the blanket of fallen autumn leaves. I took in a deep breath of tranquility. Instantly, I heard rustlings to my right.

I looked over and up to see the top of a lone tree begin a dervish whirl, waving its branches and clapping its leaves off in twirling descents. For the longest time, I beheld the dance. Then I closed my eyes and joined in until the song was over. It was better than a hug.

You know, you can remain as you are or you can lift yourself up and out. You can rise above any challenging circumstance with your attitude and confession. You are the creative force in your life.

You’re special. You’re one of-a-kind, unique as your fingerprint. God intimately fashioned you in His image, with the same creative power as Himself.

Do you know that He knows your name? When is the last time you called on His?
