You Can Do It

Recently, I received a surprise visit from a friend I haven’t heard from in a couple of years: my great blue heron. Great blue heronShe (We haven’t been formally introduced, so I choose “she” is a her.) first entered my awareness around 3 or 4 o’clock one morning.

I was awakened from sleep by what I interpreted as a scream. I sat up to better hear. Instead of someone screaming, I heard screeching. On this—her second—visit, I saw her standing by my back stream, exactly where I saw her my first time. I was in the midst of my physical, emotional, and spiritual transition, so I interpreted her visit as my sign to investigate her message to me.

In Native American lore, the heron embodies wisdom and patience. Herons are intelligent, resourceful, and very determined. They are at home in three elements: Water, Earth and Air. Comfortable in multiple elements, the heron will have one foot on land, and one foot in the water while breathing air (and air being its medium for flight) patiently waiting for its dinner to swim by. Comfort in multiple elements is symbolic of easy transitions. My “transition” was very challenging.

One article I read spoke of liminal spaces.

“liminal: a barely perceptual sensory threshold; of, relating to, or being an intermediate state, phase, or condition.” – Merriam-Webster

In ancient cultures, the action of the heron having one foot on land, and one foot in the water has been recognized as “a sign of liminality – of crossing into a space that is neither here, nor there.” This is what Eckhart Tolle refers to as the “Now.”

This spoke to me of my transition, my in-between place. I was neither here, nor there…which reminded me what my daddy used to say to reel me back from whatever excuse or rationalization I was giving him for whatever I was in trouble for!

“That’s neither here nor there.” he would say. True! I was desiring escape from my uncomfortable space.

Blue Heron’s message to me: I am not my environment. I am not my body. I am not even my circumstance. She showed me I CAN move through my in-between places, people and/or things, calmly and patiently. I CAN maintain my stability. I CAN remain focused. I CAN BE present.

When you find yourself in liminal spaces, an in-between phase, remember Heron’s tranquil stability, ready and set for action when her perfect opportunity swims by. Until, her wise stillness is mirrored on the water’s calm surface.

My transition is my Now. I am learning: I touch my feelings in-between my upgrades—“opportunities;” I feel my emotions; I stay in my now; I breathe inspiration in my tranquility; I love my life, and I love my life lessons.

As I utilize my Mastery Systems’ (www.masterysystems.com ) life upgrade coaching tools, I remember:

I touch. I feel. I stay. I breathe. I love.

Change Begins On The Inside: It’s ALL About You!

Realize what POW-er you have and how to use it…

“Did you know that every time you talk about an unhealed wound or trauma, you re-activate it in your emotional, spiritual, and physical bodies? As you speak, or even think, about an old issue, you experience it as if it is happening right now. Since your subconscious mind does not know the difference between current experience and past memory, for all intents and purposes, the trauma or negative experience is happening now…emotions-frequency

Unfortunately, when an issue is re-activated, instead of using it as a healing opportunity, many of us react by pushing the wounds down with numbing substances like food, drugs, internet, Facebook, TV, and a long list of other distractions.

Unhealed issues get stored in the body, until we release them. The body obliges as a storehouse for emotional wounds but it does take its toll, especially if issues are accumulated for long periods of time. Storing wounds in the body eventually weakens the body and invites illness and disease, as well as causing depression…The good news is that the body is ready to release issues, the moment you are.

When an unhealed issue is re-activated, don’t just push it down – take the time to finally heal it. This means creating intentional space to [FEEL] your emotions and allow the issue to process through to Healing. Once you allow yourself to fully experience these emotions for the first time, without resistance, you will innately know what path to healing is right for you.

Wounds are meant to be healed. We are not meant to spend our lives carrying around past issues and hurts.…

Wounds want to be healed and issues want to be released, but you have the last say. None of this can happen until you are ready and willing.

You are meant to be free and clear of emotional burdens. You are meant to live a limitless life with an abundance of love and creativity. You are meant to stand on the mountain top with arms stretched wide – willing to receive your grandest dreams. The Universe is listening.” –Nanice Ellis, Contributing Writer for Wake Up World

Now And Forever

So, what fills “empty” space? I’ll get back to there tomorrow. (Remember: September is paradigm shift month.)

God’s Love IS Forever Now. God is jealous for ALL to love Him. In intimate communication, we know He loves us/all, Jesus intercedes for us/the world, and Holy Spirit works overtime to teach us Christ-likeness, Jesus’s compassion, and God’s mercy and majesty.

God’s righteous judgment is right, and mercy is the grace of God.

“For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” James 2:13 (ESV)

Not that God doesn’t judge. He does and He will! His judgment is to lead us into repentance and into the narrow way wide with Grace.

Holy Spirit’s nudges are gentle. Listen to your heart thoughts. When a family member, friend, enemy, acquaintance, teacher, stranger, movie star, singer, politician…comes to mind, speak their name in prayer. Prayer can change someone’s eternity. There’ll be no rising from the final fire.

“Father God, I desire __________ with me at Your Son’s wedding.” Now, rest. THEY will do the rest.

I anticipate You at my BIG Fat Heavenly Wedding feast!!!

Breathe

Just breathe

Yes, some days breathing is an exhausting exercise, although your breath is more than inhaling and exhaling air. Read how being fastidiously persnickety is my recipe for health, happiness, and wholeness.

The Truth About Love

God’s Love IS unconditional. The love of humans is the best they know! paradigm shift deepak chopra                        And, expectation (a preconceived notion of a future event, behavior, or outcome) of unconditional love is a detour into the cul-de-sac of ingratitude. Disappointment lies at that dead end. The solution: transmute expectation into belief.

How? Pretend.

Merriam-Webster defines “pretend: speak and act so as to make it appear that something is the case…..”

Encourage the little girl/boy inside you (your inner child) to imagine your hopes, dreams, desires: concord within our family; agreement with your spouse; success and contentment for your children, and children’s children; increase in your income. Be specific!

Make believe it’s already happened.

Envision it as your present reality. Now.

Do it on purpose. Purposely, and purposefully, include yourself.

Pretend. Love makes it happen!

You’re NOT alone!

Feeling lonely, unseen, forgotten? At some time or other, each one of us tunes in to a mix of the blues.

“I don’t have Nobody…Nobody lo-oves me (singing electric guitar)…I’m so-o-o alone, it’s so hard to be a-lo-on (warbling harmonica)…I n-e-e-d (screaming guitar) Somebody…”

Enough already! You’ve felt alone. Listen to this:

Believing Isreal’s gods were gods of the hills and not of the plains (because the vagabond Isrealites lived, hid, and thrived in the mountainous terrain), Syrian King Ben-Adad planned a sure-fired victorious attack on the children of Isreal in the plains of Aphek.

I LOVE this David and Goliath analogy: “Now the children of Isreal camped before them like two little flocks of goats, while the Syrians filled the countryside.” I Kings 20:27

In that one day of battle, the children of Isreal (“the two little flocks”) killed 100,000 foot soldiers (that “filled the countryside”). The remaining 27,000 that fled to Aphek, were killed by a falling wall!

Photo heart cloudHe that never slumbers nor sleeps (Psalms 121:4) has His eyes upon the just (Psalms 34:15) to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

You’re never alone.

Moon Boots…NOW CatSuits?

“Have you ever noticed when we are sick our loving felines come ‘to take care of us?’ In their world it could be like kneading into your stomach or laying on your head. Recent studies show that there may be some logic to this crazy behavior, after all.

The studies were conducted by NASA to solve the problems of astronauts that were coming back from orbit with frail bones and sad, weak muscles. Dr. Elizabeth Von Muggenthaler, President of Fauna Communications Research, suggests that the proper frequency of vibrations can heal injuries and increase bone density. Fortunately this is the same frequency of a cats purr.

Interesting points:

Cats create purr vibrations within a range of 20-140 Hz. This frequency of vibration is medically therapeutic for many diseases.

A cat’s purr lowers dysphonia symptoms.

Frequencies of 25 & 50 Hz are the best and 100 Hz & 200 Hz the second best frequencies for promoting bone strength.

Lowers blood pressure by interacting with the cat and hearing the calming purring sound.

Petting a purring cat calms down & lowers stress.

Cat owners have 40% less risk of heart attacks.

The vibrations are helpful for healing tendons and muscles.

Cats purr can heal infections and swelling.” –vitalityscience

FUN and Factual FYI:“…A true purr is the property of the smaller cats, such as your domestic cat. Although big cats make a thrumming breath sound, it is not, according to the experts at the National Wildlife Federation, a true purr. Why? Physics!

The purr begins in the larynx of the cats, with a vibration of the vocal cords. To resonate correctly, at the established frequency of 25 to 150 cycles per second, the hyoid bone has to vibrate along with the larynx. The hyoid bone is a rough half-circle of bone under the chin. The small cat’s hyoid bone is loose, and hums along with the vibration of the vocal cords. The big cats have a system of ligaments that run along the bone, keeping it in place. They trade this vibration for the greater movement of the larynx, which allows them to roar. The only larger cat to retain its purring ability is the cheetah. No other animal can make the sound that cats do. Which begs the question, why do cats do it?

…Dr. Elizabeth Von Muggenthaler…president of Fauna Communications Research…, suggests that the vibration can heal injuries and has been shown to increase bone density. Bones respond to pressure by building themselves up. Constant low pressure vibrations could work to the same degree that more occasional high-impact motion does. Cats might have adapted to purr to help keep their muscles, tendons, and bones healthy despite their astounding napping ability.

A sedentary lifestyle isn’t the only way to earn frail bones and sad, weak muscles. Going into space will do the same thing. Astronauts come back from orbiting the earth only to head into physical rehab.

Microgravity, the kind that people experience on the space station, can result in one percent bone loss per month. Without the ability to regularly exercise muscles, astronauts also lose muscle mass and strength, especially in their legs. One suit, which simulates the way gravity causes our body to exert pressure on our lower extremities, has already been designed to cope with the damage that space does to people. Maybe a different suit could be designed – one that simulated the frequency and tone of a cat’s purr to help astronauts keep their bones and muscles strong in microgravity. All we need to do is explain that astronauts need to be fitted with vibrating catsuits. “Can suits that simulate cat purring keep astronauts healthy?”—Esther Inglis-Arkell

God’s Glasses

Research has proven that the brain sends emotional “data” to the heart, not vice-versa. You can also bet your chips that the heart is the seat of attitude. As adults, we’ve learned to camouflage these “attitudes,” but the expression on a child’s face is a ready give-away of theirs.

I’ve watched children lie with a straight face, and even toddlers (with undeveloped verbal language) expressively shake their head ‘no’ in answer to a who-dune-it inquiry. It made me wonder: “How did he/she comprehend such an abstract maneuver to deflect blame, to avoid punishment?! Obviously, it doesn’t take practice; in a split second, we make this truth-or-consequence choice to fess-up and face it, or to lie and live in limbo.

By facing the truth, we choose to walk in the light. By lying, we’re forced into hiding. Deception casts a shadow of fear (of being found out), and its guilt pierces our heart. Guilt holds us back from spontaneous walks in the Son, worship, and prayer.

Yes: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9 (KJV)

Yes: we will find ourselves guilty of many deceptions before we meet our Maker.

Yes: we will shy away from communion because of our sin.

Although all of the above are true, we should not sin! But thankfully, our God is an awesome God and sees us through the red-tinted glasses of redemptive blood. I quote Jim Croft’s perspective on this:

“In my estimation, one of the most encouraging passages that affirms answers to prayer is 1 John 3:16-23. It reveals that the condemnation of heart that prevents people from confidently making prayer requests in faith of positive outcome is overruled by God himself. The inference is that if our hearts condemn us, that God is greater than our hearts. His magnanimity of heart overrules and nullifies any condemnation within our hearts so that we can pray with full expectation of reward. The qualifier for this is not obedience to an endless list of biblical and self-inflicted religious regulations. All that we need do is believe on the name of Jesus and love our fellow Christians. You know in your inmost knower that you consistently meet that qualification in all circumstance. God is greater than your heart and invites you to pray for whatsoever you desire with expectant faith.”

Amen.

AFFIRM: “O Lord, Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105 NAS) By Your Word, I am redeemed. I am forgiven. I AM blessed. I choose the path of Truth.”
