Now And Forever

So, what fills “empty” space? I’ll get back to there tomorrow. (Remember: September is paradigm shift month.)

God’s Love IS Forever Now. God is jealous for ALL to love Him. In intimate communication, we know He loves us/all, Jesus intercedes for us/the world, and Holy Spirit works overtime to teach us Christ-likeness, Jesus’s compassion, and God’s mercy and majesty.

God’s righteous judgment is right, and mercy is the grace of God.

“For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.” James 2:13 (ESV)

Not that God doesn’t judge. He does and He will! His judgment is to lead us into repentance and into the narrow way wide with Grace.

Holy Spirit’s nudges are gentle. Listen to your heart thoughts. When a family member, friend, enemy, acquaintance, teacher, stranger, movie star, singer, politician…comes to mind, speak their name in prayer. Prayer can change someone’s eternity. There’ll be no rising from the final fire.

“Father God, I desire __________ with me at Your Son’s wedding.” Now, rest. THEY will do the rest.

I anticipate You at my BIG Fat Heavenly Wedding feast!!!

A Cool Ride

Whether for a Spinal cord injury (SCI), neurological disease or degeneration, this is the best wheelchair I’ve seen! I LOVE THIS!

I had a Swiss-made LEVO that stood me. It functioned as a regular wheelchair, AND as my legs in its up position—for standing in church or a wedding, weight bearing, to retrieve or replace dishes/food/clothing, etc.. It didn’t move until I lowered the seat back to sitting position. Unlike this snappy (almost) all-purpose wheelchair, its tires remained locked and stationary when standing.

But, I was at eye level!

Happy Spring!

Here in the South, spring has sprung. I’m not really referring to it, although it REALLY IS the first day of Spring; nor do I mean when the crocus press through frozen earth or peek through a late snow. I’m talking about the two weeks when pollen shifts over EVERYTHING! Pollen 2Rolling over its yellow stickiness, my chariot leaves tracks, and transports its tracks, all over my house.

Yes, yellow is in my top five fav colors, but this is taking it too far. Although, I find cleaning up spilled turmeric leaves l-o-n-g-e-r-l-a-s-t-i-n-g yellow stains on my finger nails! It looks like nicotine stain…on all ten! My solution: I’m wearing fingernail polish until my nails grow out…for the second time!

My consolation that Spring has sprung in her mellow yellowness: my drive-through shower.

Happy spring!

The Truth About Love

God’s Love IS unconditional. The love of humans is the best they know! paradigm shift deepak chopra                        And, expectation (a preconceived notion of a future event, behavior, or outcome) of unconditional love is a detour into the cul-de-sac of ingratitude. Disappointment lies at that dead end. The solution: transmute expectation into belief.

How? Pretend.

Merriam-Webster defines “pretend: speak and act so as to make it appear that something is the case…..”

Encourage the little girl/boy inside you (your inner child) to imagine your hopes, dreams, desires: concord within our family; agreement with your spouse; success and contentment for your children, and children’s children; increase in your income. Be specific!

Make believe it’s already happened.

Envision it as your present reality. Now.

Do it on purpose. Purposely, and purposefully, include yourself.

Pretend. Love makes it happen!

I Am Expecting My Miracle

Tuesday morning, I awakened from this dream:

I was sitting at a table. (Since my chariot, I’ve always walked, levitated, or flown in my dreams, with no reference to a wheelchair. I can count on one hand the few times I’ve been aware that a wheelchair was even near) For whatever reason, my 14-quart Wagner Ware stock pot (full of its signature soup) was on the table/counter in front of me. I picked it up, and upon turning to the left became concerned with dropping it, but bent over safely placing it on the floor. As I sat back up, I was amazed that I could perform that task. I thought, “If I have that balance and strength, I can stand up.” So, I did and walked forward.

STOP! Hold that vision.Expectation

See me? Standing up and walking forward?

GOOD! Each time you read my words or think of me, “see” me standing up and walking forward–from my wheelchair.

When I DO stand up and walk forward, You will be a part of my miracle! Because your thoughts and words cause an action–for life or death–in your, my, or whomever’s life.

Whether you’re aware, or even believe it, makes no difference. We are one.

I invite you to be part of the “global consciousness” attributing to my reality. I thank you beforehand!!!

I am enthusiastic anticipating my standing up and walking forward, with grace and ease.

Be assured: I’LL LET YOU KNOW.

Emotional Wholeness Effects Physical Health

I’ve written 2 books (click their images for previews/purchase) of my journey to emotional wholeness. I w-a-s a blend of Elsa and Olaf! But, since I’ve ramped up my avenues for wholeness, it truly is a wonderful life! I’m not certain I would have appreciated it without the bumps-in-the-night.

The emphasis in my walking years was my body: its natural athletic abilities and its appearance. I was a model and beauty pageant wins paid for college tuition. But, after my spinal cord injury, I wouldn’t look at my reflection in full mirrors, glass doors, and windows. It was part of my denial.

IF ONLY we can see our body as God views it! He loves our flesh. Remember, He created it as a container for, and means to, spirit. On this side of eternity, our body IS God’s grace by which to learn and know Him. Shouldn’t we?

The irony: our body houses, and reflects, who we believe we are and how we feel about others.

Thanks but NO THANKS! I will not bring illness and inadequacy upon myself.

Pain Is Relative…ly Painful!

You don’t hear me complain very often. What’s a pain here-and-there? For me, it’s a gratitude nudge for all the easy days. But, man-o-man, my neck and shoulders yell “whiplash” and, by the thoracic aches, I can’t decide if it’s from my spine, ribs, liver, or kidneys. Then, there’s my left knee and shin. I feel like I ran into a brick wall!

DON’T tell me to: “bite your tongue…dig in your heels…ear to the ground…go over your head…or heads will roll,” because I WAS “up to my eyeballs” gazing at my bedroom wood floor! Yeah…I fell out of my wheelchair. In my book, Views From My Chariot: A Wheelchair Oddity, (you can purchase it here or off amazon) http://booklocker.com/books/6235.html , I compare the other falls to extreme athletes. I’ll just call this one a jackknife onto a hard wood floor. No big deal. It’s only the 7th in 39 years.

I always begin a left-to-right transfer by wrapping my left arm around my left push bar in order to shift my weight toward my right “landing.” But, what can I say, I over-shifted…w-a-y over; not only was my head dangling below my seat cushion, my feet slipped backward off my foot rests, leaving me hanging by my left arm in a life-grip!

I was too far from the floor for a push up with my right arm, so my only hope was to hold onto my break extender—with my teeth, and grasp the right tire with my right hand. (As I said in my book, I can rival any Cirque du Soleil gnashers act, except for Igor Zaripov!)

I don’t have a clock in my bedroom floor, so I have no idea how long my delusional attempt of recovery lasted. But, after the prolonged blood rush and brain oxygenation, I channeled Ilsa: LET IT GO!

No brag, just fact: I’ve learned how to plan a fall although…in route, my left leg hung behind catching on my left foot rest/bar—a point deduction in any diving competition for tipping the board!!

The unfortunate part is that I had already hung up my phone and, in hindsight’s 100% accuracy, had recently opted out of a James Bond-ish life-alert chip being encased in one of my dental crowns. I mean, who foresees a spasmodic gnashing or clenching of teeth?!

The silver lining: I had a Raindrop appointment with my sister, Candace, the next morning. That got (body) slammed. She called 911. Two tall handsome hunks air-lifted me into my warm soft bed, took my vitals while telling us about their crazy shift of five fall calls!

After they left, we did get into my oils, but for other body discomforts. I turned out the lights, pulled up the covers and, gratefully, snoozed.

“Genius is an infinite capacity for taking pains.”

I wonder what this proverb is trying to tell me? Genius…yeah; but, infinite pain?

P.S. If you’re aghast at my finding humor in this, there’s hope for you, yet. It usually takes me years to appreciate “writer’s rumor.” It was ten years before I “discovered” Seinfeld (1989-1998), then Friends (1994-2004) and, later, Raymond (1996-2005).

Don’t Stay Stuck

Whether disabled or able-bodied, discovering the direction/focus for your lives, your dreams, and your career is different for each of us. The answer can only be found in a deep soul search. “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.” (Proverbs 25:2). Don’t stay stuck! The tragedy that beset Robin Williams is another wake-up call. Seek solutions. Seek help.

After coming to grips with my physical changes and limitations and, psychologically, learning to view my wheelchair as my chariot (http://booklocker.com/books/6235.html  Views From My Chariot) my emotional journey to wholeness began. It wasn’t wholly in finding adjustment to my disability; I realized there were unresolved issues from my childhood and early adulthood. In retrospect, here’s where my wheels truly hit the road.

A quote from Brene Brown…

“Dr. Shelley Uram, a Harvard-trained psychiatrist, explains that most of us think of traumatic events as big events (like wrecks and disasters). But, Dr. Uram points out that we tend not to recognize the small, quiet traumas that often trigger the same brain-survival reaction.

After studying Dr. Uram’s work, I believe it’s possible that many of our early shame experiences, especially with parents and caregivers, were stored in our brains as traumas. That is why we often have such painful bodily reactions when we feel criticized, ridiculed, rejected, and shamed.

Dr. Uram explains that the brain does not differentiate between overt, or big trauma, and covert, or small, quiet trauma—it just registers the event as a threat that we can’t control.” ~Brene Brown

Relative to our emotional, mental, and spiritual states, studies show that our brains emit specific brain wave frequencies. In agreement with Brene Brown, Kari Browning states:

“Any number of things can affect our frequencies and cause them to become out of tune, such as stress or a traumatic experience. Just as a guitar needs to be tuned from time to time, our body is the same way. Your body can be tuned to achieve optimal physical balance.

PHOTO Quote BRAIN Music activates entire brain

For instance, tapping two tuning forks will instantaneously alter your body’s biochemistry and bring your nervous system, muscle tone and organs into harmonic balance. In seconds, your body enters a deep state of relaxation.

We are constantly being vibrated, on a cellular level, by heard and unheard sound frequencies. Our emotions also have frequencies. Toxic emotions can get trapped on a cellular level and lower our overall body frequency. Disease results when a part of our body begins to vibrate out of harmony with the rest.

If you’re interested in learning about using the natural healing methods of essential oils, sound, and frequency for your spirit, soul and body to come into a place of wholeness, make reservations for our upcoming seminar on Saturday, October 3 in Northport, Alabama. Kari Browning, JoAnne McFatter, and Bryan and Cindy Culpeper will be teaching.
