The Priority of Self-Care

Have you (or do you) put other’s activities, health and happiness first in your daily routine, your “chores?”

In your doing so, do you feel “on-the-clock,” rushed, stressed, refereeing (and participating) in rounds of complaint/discontent?

A 30-minute soak in the tub.

It’s time to let go of non-edifying habits, routines and chores. Yes, there are mundane activities in each of our lives. If we count them as unpleasant must-dos, we squander the opportunity of putting on rose-colored glasses to see, feel, taste and know the joy of a beautiful life lived in peace, love and gratitude.

You have the key to your own happiness. No one else and nothing else is responsible.

What nourishes you is your medicine and your bliss.

 

If we do not love our life, we’re missing the point of the experience.

Tune In To Your Thoughts

Thought is an amazing communication. Some are golden gifts guiding our course. Some are revelations connecting the dots. Some stimulating, creative ideas. Have You Ignored Your Inner Child?

The belief that crying in the streets (protests) and clanking a bell or cymbal (demonstrations) is a transformative thing to do, is seeing through the lens of duality. Although we may have been financially or emotionally supportive, most of us have not walked in picket lines, literally stood on a “soapbox”/platform or participated in riots for some cause.

Judgments and “resistances” foster division and the lie: there is only one “right.” Everything else is wrong. Whether there physically or just mentally, those in resistance “movements” are usually throwing a fit/fighting against limitations they have personally felt limited by.

Can you, will you, acknowledge the fit your inner child throws is your unresolved reaction from feeling unappreciated, unseen, unheard, unimportant, unloved?

Can you, will you, accept the story your inner child believed WAS NOT TRUE? You only had a child’s perspective to form an inaccurate perception.

Can you, will you, allow your inner child’s pain its voice of feeling insignificant? When you feel someone or something has pushed your react button, will you take a moment, breathe and ask yourself two questions? First: How do I feel? (sad, anger, hate) Second: When did I first feel this way? You will remember something in your infancy or childhood and your healing journey will begin. You can privately resolve your own inner conflicts.

I Am Made New

I have just returned from my fifth (or sixth) Mastery System’s “All For You” and third life transforming “META-BE” in Flat Rock, NC. Before my first introduction to Mastery Systems two years ago, I was out-of-touch with my feelings—stoic: “a person who can endure pain or hardship without showing their feelings or complaining.” In truth, I was unconscious of my feelings. Yes, I AM strong of constitution yet I was insensitive to my heart thoughts—the fabric from which my observable/concrete reality is woven.

After each META-BE, I require time to assimilate my truths into my life path. I am marinating. For now, to succinctly encapsulate my life transformations from Mastery System’s META-BEs is: in my first META-BE, I re-entered, returned, into my awareness; my second, I came home, returned, to my body; in this, my third, I realized I had hated Me (not my first husband), forgave Me for my poor past choices, and embodied my Sovereign Self.

I remember I AM NEW. I remember I love and forgive Me and keep renewing that relationship.

Recently, I received a surprise visit from a friend I haven’t heard from in a couple of years: my great blue heron. Great blue heronShe (We haven’t been formally introduced, so I choose “she” is a her.) first entered my awareness around 3 or 4 o’clock one morning.

I was awakened from sleep by what I interpreted as a scream. I sat up to better hear. Instead of someone screaming, I heard screeching. On this—her second—visit, I saw her standing by my back stream, exactly where I saw her my first time. I was in the midst of my physical, emotional, and spiritual transition, so I interpreted her visit as my sign to investigate her message to me.

In Native American lore, the heron embodies wisdom and patience. Herons are intelligent, resourceful, and very determined. They are at home in three elements: Water, Earth and Air. Comfortable in multiple elements, the heron will have one foot on land, and one foot in the water while breathing air (and air being its medium for flight) patiently waiting for its dinner to swim by. Comfort in multiple elements is symbolic of easy transitions. My “transition” was very challenging.

This spoke to me of my transition, my in-between place. I was neither here, nor there…which reminded me what my daddy used to say to reel me back from whatever excuse or rationalization I was giving him for whatever I was in trouble for!
